So, the fairer the skin, the more it ages. This is because with darker skin our natural melanin protects us from the sun’s rays. The UVA and UVB rays create cumulative damage, resulting in DNA and collagen damage; and causing undue oxidative stress on the skin. ( Guys read: Freckles, pigmentation, lines, sagging and wrinkles)
Anti-ageing foods- A myth or reality?
Omega 3 fatty acids are a wonderful anti-ageing ingredient. Omega 3’s are naturally present in the skin and help maintain the barrier against the environment’s onslaught of pollutants, irritants, bacteria and UV rays. (Walnuts, flaxseed, salmon are all foods that contain omega-3-fatty acids.)
It is not necessary to have separate day and night creams.(Bingo!) You only need to moisturise regularly. At night, you can use a heavier cream than in the daytime though because your skin can absorb it better and you don’t have to worry about getting too sweaty or greasy in the daytime.
Here’s the serious stuff!
Typically the first treatment one can look at would be laser, even before Botox or Filler. A laser such as Clearlift 4D or NIR will give you results on your lines and sagging, without having to go through injectables. For those of who are comfortable with Botox/Fillers, then start with a little Baby Botox. Baby Botox is Botox homeopathy, meaning that microdoses of Botox are mixed with Anti-aging or brightening actives, and added to the gentle wrinkles on the face. You get quick line smoothening, but you will never look frozen with Baby Botox. You will look like you, just line-free!
