DLF Emporio wrapped up the 4th edition of Design Awards, 2015-16 on the 29 of last month  at DLF Emporio. 2016 saw the following jury members- veteran fashion designer Ritu Kumar, designer Gaurav Gupta, Vogue fashion features director Bandana Tewari, FDCI President Sunil Sethi and Dinaz Madhukar from DLF Luxury Retail and Hospitality.
The final round witnessed twenty three entries shortlisted by Gaurav Gupta out of the many received from across the country and abroad. Aspiring designers from national and international institutes like PEARL, NIFT, INIFD, London School of Fashion, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Singapore, Raffles Millennium, Indian Institute of Gems & Jewelry, FDDI sent across their designs.  The theme for the occasion was classic Black and White vintage inspired from classics of 1900s.

 The participants showcased their creativity in vintage designs with a modern zeal. The designs were not limited to apparels but also incorporated designs for accessories and footwear.  The designs had a beautiful play of fabrics, subtle confrontation of modern and vintage. This became an opportunity for budding designers to bag the limelight at an early stage, which the profession provides.

The winner for apparel was Karan Torani from Pearl Academy- Delhi,  Bhawdeep Singh from INIFD-Ludhiana emerged the runner-up. Aishwarya Jain of IIGJ-Delhi bagged the first position under  accessory category whereas Ashish Sahi from NIFT-Gandhinagar managed the runner up position in the same category. 

To keep up the competitive spirit, there was people’s choice award which went to NIFT-Raebrelli’s Sherry Khanna on the basis of online voting. To launch a spectacular career, the winners get a chance to design and retail their collection at the DLF Emporio through an exclusive pop-up store for 2 weeks! Kudos!!
